Perth’s Seniors Outdoor Fitness World Record Attempt & Community Health Expo 2017

Friday 10th March, 2017

A new ‘unofficial’ Guinness World Record was set on 20 June 2014 for the largest seniors outdoor exercise class where a total of 52 people turned up for the exercise class in Sydney’s northern beaches. Prior to this attempt the only other existing, similar world record for people aged over 70 years is the oldest dance troupe, The Hip Op-eration Crew from New Zealand, consisting of 23 active members aged 67 to 95 years old, with an average age of 79 years.

On the 28th of April 2016, to coincide with international pay it forward day, Perth charity People Who Care launched Perth’s first Seniors Outdoor World Record Attempt and family fun day at the iconic Bell Tower at Elizabeth Quay. Over 25 exhibitors and 148 participants over the age of 60 completed a light 30 minute exercise routine, visited all the stall holders and enjoyed the entertainment acts performing during the day.

In 2017, the event promises to be bigger and better with attendees (aged 40 to 100+) encouraged to bring their friends and family for a fun day of activities, free health checks, program advice, entertainment, food and giveaways!

100% of all donations, registration fees, participant sponsorship’s and funds raised from our sausage sizzle and event day competitions all go towards the People Who Care charity and projects to support people living the community experiencing hardship, disadvantage and often to help people escaping emergency crisis situations.

Exhibitor numbers are limited, so don’t delay in contacting the team at and we will help you submit your application to secure the best spot and be a part of what is set to be Perth’s premier senior health event.
